36 Year Old Lawyer With No Experience To Head ICE

Link to story.

The Bush administration is seeking to appoint a lawyer with little immigration or customs experience to head the troubled law enforcement agency that handles those issues, prompting sharp criticism from some employee groups, immigration advocates and homeland security experts.

Her uncle is Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, the departing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She married Chertoff’s current chief of staff, John F. Wood, on Saturday.

In written answers to questions from Congress, Myers highlighted her year-long job as assistant secretary for export enforcement at Commerce, where she said she supervised 170 employees and a $25 million budget. ICE has more than 20,000 employees and a budget of approximately $4 billion. Its personnel investigate immigrant, drug and weapon smuggling, and illegal exports, among other responsibilities.

Cronyism over experience in a time of war, all this in the wake of the the Katrin FEMA debacle. Shocking.

Typical of a fellow who has lost all sense of reason regarding how to fight a war and protect the United States of America. I thought he was much better than the cowards who ran against him in 2000 and 2004, but I’m not so sure any more. Is it better to have another coward like Clinton in the White House, Kerry, (who abandoned his VN troops on phony injury claims), or a fellow with more courage and the inability to focus on facts?

His choice for ICE needs to be ICE’d! Is a U.S. Citizen revolt needed to put our country back in world status? Tancredo for President has a really good sound to it. At least we know he stands on this side of the border and isn’t a burro in “El Zorro’s” pocket.
