In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

A nice-sounding bill called the “Global Poverty Act,” sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.

Senator Joe Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has not endorsed either Senator Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. But on Thursday, February 14, he is trying to rush Obama’s “Global Poverty Act” (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends.

The legislation itself requires the President “to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.”

The bill defines the term “Millennium Development Goals” as the goals set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, General Assembly Resolution 55/2 (2000).

Jeffrey Sachs, who runs the U.N.’s “Millennium Project,” says that the U.N. plan to force the U.S. to pay 0.7 percent of GNP in increased foreign aid spending would add $65 billion a year to what the U.S. already spends. Over a 13-year period, from 2002, when the U.N.’s Financing for Development conference was held, to the target year of 2015, when the U.S. is expected to meet the “Millennium Development Goals,” this amounts to $845 billion. And the only way to raise that kind of money, Sachs has written, is through a global tax, preferably on carbon-emitting fossil fuels.

That is par for the course, Global Government can only be successful if the “rich” nations spread their wealth out to the point where no more disparity of income will exist. We will then all live in a Utopian paradise and Osama, Hillary or McCain can become our new God. What I wonder though is where the wealth will come from. America is more than broke, what else can we give when the Dollar is worthless?

  2. K2 says:

They’re in a hurry. The clock is ticking. The communist-corporate alliance want this rammed through before the economy goes up in flames, and the middle class begins to dig in about the redistribution of wealth to the 3rd world which has done jack shit to warrant it. They want this locked in and the population unable to resist, before the crunch comes… which is very shortly.

  3. K2 says:

Sandman- They will get the wealth. We are used to the current paradigm, as it has operated for many generations. But we are at the junction between the industrial age and a new one. Many cannot grasp how, and why a communist-corporate alliance could possibly work, in a global structure. Not with what is perceived as how communism, the UN and the multinationals are supposed to operate, conventionally. They are not attempting to forge a New World anything. Not really. It is an old system, that they are planning a return to- Feudalism, but in a modern world. The corporate elite, and communism, can co-operate in a 2-tiered, class sytem. By eliminating their old, deadliest, common enemy- a vigorous middle class. Wealth can be created without a middle class. It was for a long time. It is not as dynamic, but there are other advantages, for those who rule over a Lord and helot system.

  4. stoney says:

This bill should give pause to anyone that supports Obama.
It shows what we will be in for if he is elected, along with Che’s picture and Cuban flags everywhere.

  5. Matthew says:

We already give to a charity of our choice here in my household. Isn’t this tax a little intrusive and over bearing on the already burdened American? Not only is our evil government forcing us to pay for mexico and it’s citizens, now we are to pay for the rest of the world too? Why in F*$K do we even work and pay taxes if our family, those we work for can’t even benefit from it and get ahead?

  6. stoney says:

Reply to Matthew: Not being able to get ahead is the idea they have in mind for USA citizens. They could not enslave you if you could get ahead.

I agree with all the comments here. Now take this into consideration. They are pushing the HealthCare for everyone. That means forcing everyone to have and pay for healthcare regardless if you want it or not. That is a soci-alist / comm-unist ideology - take (money, land etc…) from everyone to pay for the very poor or those with less (something similar).

Now, once that is forced onto everyone (low and middle-class Americans) there isn’t much left for savings, right? Everyone essentially living from pay-check to pay-check, except for the tax collector, drug companies and the like. The ones that are reaping the taxes. Allowing government to control your life. After everything is said and done, there will be a universal class of citizen - one that just lives in the now, because after all of your bills are paid and all of the taxes deducted - you are only allowed a set amount of money - enough to eat. This is taxation without representation. I suspect that is why they are trying to ram it through without notice.

  8. Sandman says:

Watch this amazing video filmed 25 years ago with former JBS president Larry McDonald speaking out against the NWO. It seemed like back then, even Pat Buchanan was skeptical of what the JBS had to say regarding the Global elite and their plans. If Congressman McDonald had not had the “accidental” plane crash, he would be another Ron Paul today.

  9. Vincent Narodnik says:

    Good vid, Sndmn.
Not to be overlooked is Tom Braden, (the other [man] interviewing/attacking McDonald) Heres a little background:
I see at the bottom there is a Spartacus International posting for him also.
    (wink wink)
    As for conspiracies:
The Cosa Nostra is a conspiracy.
(the only difference is that the Cosa Nostra is a socially acceptable conspiracy-that is, one in which you are allowed to have no fear in publicly stating your belief in its existence)
If they were interviewing Joseph Anastasia, do you think that he would have an interest in discrediting belief in his organization?
    Another note on Conspiracy
According to the US Government (via J. Edgar Hoover)
Communism and all of its tentacle organizations are OFFICIALLY ‘conspiratorial’.
So Braden has not one leg to stand on.
All he can do is try to create a cloud of suspicion and contempt for McDonald
which communists and their fellows have always been diabolically proficient at.
    (probably literally)

Didn’t take Obama long to start to pay off his CFR IOUs now did it?

This is the tip of the iceberg. Get ready because here it comes. Just the beginning.

  11. Twatch says:

I called both Senators Coburn and Inhofe to ask for their position on the Global Poverty Act and I was told in both cases they had not determined their positions yet. Although Senator Coburn’s assistant said given his principles they anticipated he would not support it. I registered my request that they both vote against the Bill and would encourage everyone to do the same.

A lot of Americans need food stamps even though they are working full time. The poorest Americans don’t care about such things as taxes because for them taxes are a good thing. They get nice refunds.

I think it is very dangerous to have so many citizens depending on social services no matter how many hours they work. What happens if our government takes all the social services away, but lets the employers keep paying the low wages? Americans who never took an interest in politics would suddenly have to wake up.

Imagine some of them trying to find a new place to live after the gov. stops their housing vouchers. There would be a lot of homeless people and a lot more of that 20 to a house stuff. People are sheep. They take any free thing they can get. I guess their parents didn’t tell them American poverty stories of what poverty was like in the 40’s and 50’s. My parents really scarred me.

I was raised that when somebody does something nice for you, you better find out why. They have a reason and you need to know. Why does our gov. provide these social services? Can we trust our government?

  13. melody says:

I spelled scared wrong. I meant the word that means to become frightened.

  14. BEADALONG says:

A global tax imposed on us when we’re already saddled? Isn’t this nation the LARGEST Debtor nation IN the world?

And the religious groups approve of this.?..Well, how quaint! They should start paying taxes too! End that tax-exempt status for those a$$holes.

  15. Rim says:

I am not sure how we can be taxed any more than we are right now. When I listen to the politicians talk about all the aid to other countries I just wonder if they are printing the paper stuff with nothing to back it up. Obama or anyone else can think or promise to tax or give US funds to any one they want but if we don’t have it where is it going to come from. Our Federal and State governments are broken. Just listen to the State of CA, The City of LA. They are both BROKE. Arnold is talking about a 10% cut across the board.
Be very careful who you vote for.

  16. jo says:

    “GLOBAL POVERTY ACT”…………………………………………………………………..

they ain’t lying about the name. these guys do have a sense of humor. the titles of their programs tell the real story. it is what they write about it that is pure bullsh*t!

  17. K2 says:

Rim #15: “Obama or anyone else can think or promise to tax or give US funds to any one they want but if we don?t have it where is it going to come from. Our Federal and State governments are broken.”- Like so much that comes with the UN and it’s associated global institutions, the worst of it is in the details. The US still has resources and territory, no? How about you, personally? Your neighbours? You all have property and assets? Default and see what happens. All that wealth isn’t going to redistribute by itself.

  18. Vincent Narodnik says:

    [from #11(Twatch)]
…”had not determined a position on that yet”
That is a Masterpiece of bureaucratic double speak.
I keep a collection of just such phrases in my head, and pull them out now and then when Im being sarcastic (nearly always)
    That one is a gem!
Im going to try it out soon.
    Heres how:
The next time someone asks me “do these jeans make me look fat?”
I will take on a serious face
    and gravely say
“Well, I really havent had time to determine my position on that”
    (rolling pin)

  19. cthelight says:

No words. This country is lost.

  20. Vincent Narodnik says:

uh, Im affraid you may be right, c.
When I saw the name Sachs, I immediately smelled something
I did a little digging around about him/it.
While I was unable to find out if he was a scion of the notori…sorry Illustrious Goldman Sachs banking dynasty, there is alot of info on him.
Either way, hes a blue blooded bureaucrat from birth
and only knows poverty as an abstraction
and a devise to gain social advantage among his peers
(who already have all the money in the world)
Why in the hell do people think that ‘the rich’ know anything about ‘the poor’?
and have a natural advantage in fixing their problems?
anyway, great. Yeah. The UN has published its intent to FORCE (their words) to dump .7 of its gdp on the open compassion market and to be distributed among the warring chieftans for proper disbursal. Our own (?) government is trying to finalize its passage. You can point this fact out to just about any normal ‘well educated person you know-and you will get the same dead, cud chewing stare as you get when you bring up the NAU. It is also likely that you will get treated to a brisk bath of hostile suspicion of the type that all ‘conspiracy theorists’ get.

    Heres a neat little fact:
Sachs actually has a group of people who are trying to draft him for president.
I wish it were a joke. How far gone are we? If you need confirmation, just type in sachs for presidnt.
dont say I didnt warn you.

  21. Vincent Narodnik says:

    it just keeps getting worse.
slow day around here so I decided to do a little more digging about Sachs.
    again I am stumped
His wifes name is Sonia Ehrlich
and I am unable to determine if she is related to the notable eugenicist Paul Ehrlich. Since these fish all seem to swim in the same bathysphere, it would not surprise me at all. (thinking of Al Gores daughter marrying Jacob Schiffs grandson)
    Heres a quote
“Mark Molloch Brown, who was deputy secretary-general of the United Nations under Kofi Annan, described Sachs to me as “this magnificent battering ram.” In unadorned English he added, not without respect, “He’s a bully. For the record, he’s a bully.”

    (from Van. Fair article)

  22. K2 says:

Sandman #8: “…If Congressman McDonald had not had the ?accidental? plane crash, he would be another Ron Paul today.”- McDonald had to be silenced. For those unaware, that plane crash was KAL 007. The aircraft was directed into USSR airspace, and shot down by a Soviet fighter.

  23. BEADALONG says:

K2, was that the plane that crashed either on or around Sakhalin (spelling) Island decaded ago?

  24. BEADALONG says:

    Oops, that should be “decades”

  25. BEADALONG says:

Hmm, there was an article on Jeff Rense regarding Obama being a Freemason and related to both Bush and Cheney.

  26. K2 says:

Beadalong #23: Yes. Actually, Moneron Is or Sakhalin. Although it officially crashed, it either actually ditched or landed conventionally. McDonald and other passengers were imprisoned.

  27. BEADALONG says:

Okay K2. So anyway, that’s what happened. I thought it was kind of a hazy story presented by MSM.
