As many as 20 students were involved. She was spit on and assaulted by male Hispanic students. They threatened to rape her, stab her, and kill her. The school staff ordered her to return to class and she not allowed to phone her parents.

Melanie Bowers, 13, and her parents walked into Athens High School Monday afternoon to talk to campus police. They were hoping to get some answers.

“It never should have happened in the first place. The whole assignment was a silly assignment and they should have contacted us immediately after it happened,” said J.R. Bowers, Melanie’s father.

It was an assignment for history class–to make a protest sign for or against an issue, and Melanie said she chose illegal immigration. Her sign read, “If you love our nation, stop illegal immigration.” Somehow, Melanie said the sign got passed around lunch and angered a group of Latino students.

“I didn’t know any of these people,” she said. One young, she claimed, jumped on her back and he put her in a choke hold. “We have brick walls in the middle school and he slammed my face on the bricks.”

Melanie said a group of boys also threatened to rape and kill her. Eventually, the boys let her go and when she went for help, she was ordered back to class, and told she could not call her parents, she said.

“They handled this wrong, you know, they put a child back in danger,” said J.R. Bowers. “It was a very racially motivated crime.”

Athens ISD gave KLTV 7 a statement, confirming there was a disturbance in the hallway, Friday between two to three students. “We have a camera system in the building,” said Louis DeRosa. “We are collecting other information and statements from witnesses and this is all the information we have at this time,” he said.

Melanie and her parents said they just hope the right thing is done…and quickly.

“I won’t be happy until the kids that did this are out of school,” Bowers said.

This Athens high school is in Texas, huh?

The school staffers ordered her to return to class and was told she couldn’t call her parents knowing this was a dangerous situation?

This school needs to be sued, some staffers need to be fired and if any of these students are illegal aliens, they need to be deported along with their families. If any of these students are legal, they need to be criminally charged…..and criminal charges should be placed against the school staffers for not stopping this as well.

The principal and other authorities at the top level of the school should also be investigated to see what their slant is….are they promoting the illegal alien agenda? Do they have MEChA or some similar chapter in their school?

A wildly disgusting incident. A young girl gets attacked for expressing patriotism and the rule of law. Then her attackers are not punished.

An aptly titled story: Racist Latino Students…

This girl was attacked and threatened with rape because she was White. It’s an outrage that something like this would happen in the first place, and then on top of it, the cowardly actions (or should I say In-actions) by the school administration.

BTW-THIS story should be the top of the news cycle, not the moronic tripe force-feed to the masses by the MSM.

Good job Dog in getting the word out.

    Cheers to you, Melanie!

Yes, this was disgusting and if any of the attackers are illegal aliens, they need to be deported immediately along with their families.

This is a little off topic but here in CA, the schools always, always whining about money. It’s getting sickening. I could see it if it was spent wisely, but the $ seems to keep getting flushed down a bottomless pit.

How about a little wisdom and common sense? How about terminating all free schooling of illegal aliens?

  6. BEADALONG says:

Oh yea, that’s right, I made the above suggestion several times, to the CA gov, Feinswine, Boxer & our S’ Jose mayor, (no reply of course), but they still whine about a Fiscal Emergency and money troubles.

Remember Gavin Newsom (mayor of Frisco)? He clamed money woes but then says he welcomes illegals, is going to spend $83,000 to give out info for services to illegals (courtesy of tax payers on both counts) probably.

  7. Mountain Man says:

This kind of thing goes on out here in Calif all the time it just never makes the news.
I am not not allowed on here to say what I would like to see done to those scumbag punks.

  8. Angel says:

She’s lucky to be alive. I bet the school officials advocate open borders. Why else would they turn a blind eye and try to squelch the story. I see a lawsuit coming because school officials are required to provide safety for all students. Also, by not allowing her to call home, there could be a law broken their based on student and parental rights.

    Absolutely disgusting.

I actually think that the assignment was a good one. It was an extension activity. Students were to apply their knowledge of what they had learned in class and using creativity create a form of expression. These types of projects go on all the time in class. Watch the school turn against the teacher and the assignment to pass their blame.

It is time we finally stood up & said,”enough”. We want our country back. Send these pieces of shit back across the border.
