Blacks Support Illegal Aliens?

‘People in my community feel their kids don’t have jobs because of cheap labor, especially in the construction industry,’ Norman said. ‘We see it all the time.’

But the other half — the assertion repeated in numerous media reports and commentaries this month that African Americans blame immigrants — is off base, Norman said. And his view is in line with recent polls.

‘We still sympathize with the immigrants,’ he said.

The Field Poll in California released Wednesday showed 82 percent of blacks support offering undocumented workers the opportunity to become citizens, while 76 percent of Latinos and 74 percent of whites took that position.

Rick Callender, president of the San Jose branch of the NAACP, said the idea that blacks are particularly hurt by the competition for America’s lowest-paying jobs is insulting.

‘Since when did these become black jobs?’ Callender asked. ‘I don’t know where people are getting this idea that African Americans believe immigrants are taking our jobs.’

Legal Immigrants Support Illegals?

Political consultant, Maria Cardona told SAW, ?I think they really sympathize with the undocumented population, which lives in fear of being deported everyday, of being arrested, of being taken away from their family, their children being taken away. It?s a fear, no one should have to live with. The legal immigrant population probably has family members that are in this country without papers, and they live in fear for them every single day.?

That perhaps explains the results of the first-ever national poll of legal immigrants from 40 countries including India, on the issue of illegal immigration. The survey polled 800 legal immigrants in nine languages including Hindi, Spanish and Mandarin. A majority of those polled oppose Congressional proposals including criminalizing and deporting undocumented workers.

In addition, going against prevailing American perception, 81% said undocumented workers were not stealing American jobs. In fact, 73% said illegal immigrants help the US economy by providing low-cost labour.

Americans Back Guest Worker Program?
LA Times There couldn’t be a more biased newspaper than the LA Times.

Washington — Most Americans say the United States should confront the challenge of illegal immigration by both toughening border enforcement and creating a new guest-worker program rather than stiffening enforcement alone, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found.

Protests Backfire
World Net Daily

Recent images of seas of illegal aliens marching in cities across the U.S. are having a far greater negative than positive impact on the foreigners’ cause, according to a new poll.

A Zogby survey of nearly 8,000 people shows coast-to-coast protests against immigration proposals in Congress ? particularly to make it a federal felony to be an illegal worker in the U.S. ? have not persuaded a majority of likely American voters.

Asked whether the protests have made likely voters more or less sympathetic toward undocumented workers, 61 percent said they’re less likely to be sympathetic to the plight of illegals as a result of the protests, while only 32 percent of respondents said they’re now more sympathetic. Younger respondents to the poll were more likely to be sympathetic than were older participants.

yes most hispanics are in fact pro-illegal and want this nation to become a third world hell, its normal for people who can’t understand freedom or justice.

  2. Vincent Narodnik Says:

Most ‘hispanics’ are in favor if illegal immigration in the same way that most Alcoholics are in favor of Whiskey.

  3. The Watchdog Says:

I disagree with you Fred. Most legal Latino’s are not supportive of illegal immigrants. You may see support from anchor babies but second and third generation Latino’s see things quite differently.

  4. David M. Says:

We just need the wall built, plain and simple. To hell with the illegals and their families. If you cannot support your child, you should have kept your legs crossed!

  5. alice Says:

A large majority of legal immigrants and Blacks are not supportive of illegal immigrants. Some of these groups doing these polls need to come down and get in touch with the real people. Middle class America is already struggling enough. We’re not trying to have things get worse than what they already are.
