Senate Shifts Iraq Funds to Border Patrols

Great. Now all we need are 10,000 more Border Patrol Agents.

The Senate voted Wednesday to divert some of the money President Bush requested for the war in Iraq to instead increase patrols against illegal immigrants on the nation’s borders and provide the Coast Guard with new boats and helicopters.

An amendment cutting Bush’s Iraq request by $1.9 billion to pay for new aircraft, patrol boats and other vehicles, as well as border checkpoints and a fence along the Mexico border crossing near San Diego widely used by illegal immigrants was adopted on 59-39 vote.

Why the money form the war in Iraq? This is dumb!

  2. The Watchdog Says:

It doesn’t matter. It’s all money that we borrow from China anyway.

?Senate Shifts Iraq Funds …” Does that say “shifts”? with an “F”? Shifts?
Either way, they certainly ARE doing alot of ’shifting’ up there these days. Heck, maybe Im idealistic or something- but I just dont think its very respectful to sculpt legislation out of raw bullshift. Thats just me though.

How do we get our country back?

Why is Bush working so hard to give an appearance that he has put our security first, when really he seems to be working against what is best for us? I really hope our troops
come home soon! Befor all hell breaks loose with Iran. I believed in him, i fell really let down. I wonder if one of those planes that crashed on Sep.11 had made it to the White House would things be diffrent? I was reading on another website, comments from some of these illegals about raping women, and killing people who are white. I know people post empty threats, but why shouldn’t i be worried? Maybe they can all move in to John McCains neighborhood!

I think we should “SHIFT” some Senators around. Might be more effective really. Maybe we should rename “shifting” to “outsourcing”. That sounds more “polically correct”. Kind of like “undocumented citizens”. Outsource the Senate. I like the ring to that. I am pretty sure we could find people who could do the work that American Seantors don’t want to do for less money. Actually, I am sure of it.

So we take from the military move it to the wall and other B.S. that we really don’t need, why not start bringing our troops home build up all our borders all across the US and stop sending food and aid to other countries, start collecting our debts from other countries, send everyone back to their country that is illegal and start doing for ourselves. We did it back in the 1700-1800’s without help from other countries we can do it again.
But since we American?s are ?lazy and won?t do the work? says Bush, why not vote the ones that are against the wall and immigration out of office. The last thing I have to say is we (the US) is in for another rude awakening, it?s not going to get better, it?s going to get worst.

OK . . . I finally have to say something. (This is my first posting after having visited this site often) I believe that the threat of invasion from our southern border is ten times the threat from any Middle-Eastern terrorist organization, or any fabled WMD threat from Iraq, Iran, or North Korea. In fact, I read a brief interview recently with a retired military big-wig who flat-out stated “There is no credible threat to the United States right now.” The Bush-Cheney administration is easily the worst, most destructive, treasonous, bunch we’ve EVER had in the White House. Ever. Conservatives in this country scratch their head in wonder: “Why is’nt Bush securing the border and stopping illegal immigration?” Is’nt it obvious to everyone now what the answer to that question is?: “Because he/they don’t give a s*#t about YOU or AMERICA!” This administration is soley for the advancment of Global Corporatist ideology. They are in the EARLY stages of attempting to build a U.S.-led Global Corporatist Empire. (By “U.S.-led”, I mean our military and tax money are the tools by which this Empire is errected.) Part of achieving this aim is atomizing and outright destroying the one group of people who stand the best chance at stopping this lunatic plan of imperial overreach - us, the American people. One of the primary methods to achieve this system of Global Economic Interdependence is to ABOLISH NATIONAL BORDERS. Challenge national soveriegnty with an emerging global government (NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, IMF, WTO, World Bank, etc.) that somehow magically trumps our U.S. Constitution. For reasons outlined by many of you in other posts, we absolutely MUST STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!! If that means diverting a paltry $1.9 billion from the war in Iraq then I say - “Finally!”. We need to triple the border guard and continue the border fence. I have lived 95% of my 30-odd years in Southern California and I have seen tremendous change. The “jobs Americans won’t do” have expanded greatly. I can remember when fastfood places were actually staffed by Americans with a decent command of the English language. Nowadays, you have about a 68.7% chance that your order will actually be correct. I remember a time when homes were actually built by Americans. Fancy that! Now, the only American is the foreman. Folks, we’re pretty much alone in this fight. Very few politicians on the Federal and State level seem to hearing us. Count me in though.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I’ve noticed a sort of nasty racist undertone to some of your posts. This has to stop. Look, I know your frustrated! Let us be civil and rational. Remember, among the signers of the Texas Republic constitution and the California constitution were Mexicans. They became Americans because they too - the noble, industrous rancheros - believed in this country. No haters, please.

    Educated American,

YES! You are right on the money. There are a lot of people that don’t understand why Bush will not secure the border. They figure he just doesn’t get it. They have a hard time realizing that Bush does not want a border at all. He does not want America. A lot of this stuff is difficult for people to grasp and it wasn’t something that I was fully aware of either until I started working on this documentary. McCain, Bush, Kennedy, and all the globalists in Washington are trying to create an North American Union. The United States will just be an economic region, not the nation that exists today. We are not Americans to them. We are just replaceable workers in a global economy.

  10. Anti-Illigal Immigrations Says:

Now that’s a very good step in a right direction to protect our nation. If the Congress are going to fight any war, it needs to secure the border first before take the battle to the enemy.

  11. Vincent Narodnik Says:

I know that 1.9 billion is a big pile of money and all, but keep in mind, it is about what they spend in Iraq in12 or 13 days. Not much more than a gesture. Anyways- 1.9 billion doesnt mean 12 000 000 illegals returned to where they ought to be. It means moere dog and pony shows with 1200 arrests, 950 immediate releases, and back to business as usual.
